Backend Engineer (Python)
Job Description:
Aquaai is seeking a talented and passionate backend engineer to join our team in designing and developing innovative underwater bio-inspired robots for subsurface monitoring. As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to maintain backend services that power our dashboard. Aquaai is an int'l, diverse, female-led company. Candidate must have EU work capabilities when applying.
Responsibilities & Functions:
Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement backend solutions using Python.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to create cutting-edge solutions for waterways monitoring.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing codebase.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with front-end applications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with software development lifecycle in a team (code reviews, version control, tests)
Proficiency in Python programming language.Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
Excellent problem-solving skills
English communication skills. Company language is English and you MUST be able to communicate well in English the good, bad & ugly while building what others deem the impossible. Curious, positive, excited, humorous are all a plus.
Nice to Have:
Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Experience with ROS or ROS2 (Robot Operating System).
C++ experince
The boldness to think out of the box and propose unconventional solutions.

Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled electrical technician or electrical engineer with hands on skills wiring small robots or drones. Join a small, dynamic, early stage, int'l data & marine robotics company with a unique robotic fish product in market. You will build boards already designed, so no designers please unless you can follow another persons creation.

Responsibilities:
ASSEMBLY of small robots / drones in the lab and in the field, including soldering, maintaining and trouble shooting hardware issues. You trouble shoot beyond the book. You can confidently wire a robot or drone and have basic software knowledge.
Qualifications & Requirements:
You are experienced and understand battery power management. You must be comfortable working both in the lab and on a boat near water. Must be able to self-manage, handle chaos and pressure yet calmly deliver clean work.
Travel is necessary for this position. Company language is English and you MUST be able to communicate well in English the good, bad & ugly while building what others deem the impossible. Curious, positive, excited, humorous are all a plus.
